To the Public Session of the CAFTA-DR Environmental Affairs Council Meeting
On January 27, 2011, the CAFTA-DR Environmental Affairs Council (EAC) is having its fifth meeting in Washington, D.C. From 1:15 pm to 4:00 pm, the EAC is hosting a Public Session for the public to hear about and discuss CAFTA-DR Environment Chapter obligations and environmental cooperation with EAC members. Each Council member will provide an overview of Chapter implementation and the impacts of the Environmental Cooperation Program in his/her country. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with EAC members.
A reception will take place immediately following the Public Session, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The reception will include high-level remarks by Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs Maria Otero and USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean Mark Lopes. At the reception, meeting participants will have the opportunity to interact with program implementers and country representatives, as well as receive literature on Program initiatives and results.
